Fractional, Decimal and American. Fractional odds are exactly as its says on the tin…..a fraction. So lets take a price which is odds on, which might be 1/4 or one quarter. So If you put a bet on of 1 pound, you will receive back your one pound stake plus one fourth, so a total of $1.25. Decimal odds are quite straightforward to understand, as all you need to do is take the decimal number, lets say 34.0 and deduct 1 which would give you odds of 33/1. When we talk about American odds. it can be a little more difficult to understand, buts lets try and simplify it for you. All bets are classed as a return to 100 points so American Odds of 2000 would equate to 3.0 in decimal and 2/1 in fractional terms.

Boylesports provide “Live” betting across a diverse range of sports and events. The LIVE betting interface is one of the easiest to use of all the online bookmakers and it makes it easy to get an event and market very quickly so you can place a bet after an important event or even before an action has happened like a corner or a penalty in a soccer match. Many bookmakers will only show the live events taking place that day, but Boylesports have an upcoming betting events list which makes it easy to see what live events are in the pipeline.

Live streaming

Boylesports have a great live streaming service and you can watch your favorite event streamed live from your computer, tablet or mobile.

When you hit the home page at Boylesports you are presented with a lot of information on one screen and it is the type of interface that would take a lot of getting used to in our opinion.

You have the traditional sports betting menu on the left, but unlike many sportsbooks that have a 3 column layout, Boylesports has a 4 column layout and this in itself makes the content smaller (more difficult to read) and it is not intuitive. This interface is quite new and looks like a step back rather than a step forward.

For experienced punters it will not be a huge problem but for newcomers it will seem daunting at first.

The colour scheme still uses the same dark blue, lighter blue, red and dark grey which actually works really nicely. With so many columns it can be confusing with the navigation. Having said that, you have a main products menu at the top and the left side menu which contains all of your sports and markets. So it is not too difficult to find what you are looking for.

We mentioed the main page is split into four columns and these include:

– Sports menu on the left
– Main sports odds section in the second column
– Live and In-play events
– Bet slip and offers on the right

As we said it will be confusing at first until you have had a chance to play with it a little.

The speed of the site is good as you would expect from one of the leading bookmakers.

An overall betting margin across sports of 4.255 tells you that Boylesports is inded one of the most competitive when it comes to odds offerings.

Where they are great at 3.1% on tennis, they lag pretty far behind in terms of value for soccer punters with a relatively high margin of 6%.

American sports feature heavily in their sports offer and basketball at 4.1% and baseball at 3.5% are very competitive with American Soccer running at a margin of 4.55 which is a little higher than many of their competitors.

In tersm of types of bets then Boylesports offer a wide range of bet types, however their market coverage is not as high as other sites with many major soccer matches having between 60-80 markets. This is weak when we look at some competitors like William Hill and coral who are regularly trading more than 200 markets on a single premier league game.

In terms of bet types they offer a wide range and if you visit the site and click on the help link in the top menu you can see under sports betting they have clear explanations of all of the different bets and how they work. They even have an extensive glossary so you can find any topic related to types of bets and any words you might not understand.

The inplay interface in the third column on the home page is not really clear and easy to understand. But if you click In-play from the top or left side menu then you have a seperate In-play page open up with just three columns.

The first column shows all sports that are LIVE now and you can view these by opening and closing a dropdown arrow. The second column features the events that are coming up and the third column has your bet slip and any current promotional offers.

This interface is easy for anybody to use and is very clear in terms of layout and navigation.
