Supporting political organizations . Used Smarkets for years recently they have plastered a political organization hashtag on there site of a group which which is causing terror round the world . I just wanted to bet really don't understand why you would put this on your site back to bet fair for me, shame.

An Unreliable platform, awful customer service and they seem to fabricate liquidity in their markets so when you go to place a bet or lay there simply isn’t the money there the platform is claiming.

Now Betfair offer 2% commission not a single reason to use them. Simply awful.

Smarkets groomed me and now don't answer emails blocked me on Twitter but they cannot block me on google,mse,Yahoo and other forums I have posted my groomed experience remove this too smarket hahahahahahahhahshshshshshshshssh

Negative-the customer service is something bellow horrible, I have submitted Proof of ID and POA as I do with other bookies and I never faced any issue, today the rejected both, I do have experience on that stuff and I can reassure, there are nothing wrong with those paper, the guy even asked full page of bank statement what is wrong.. the need to see the address, name, date… never bank transactions..
As I have contested they're method and applied for refund of my deposit(they should not receive any deposit before having the customer verified
But the most important thing, the lack of respect for the client.. defenetly I can not recommend

I am genuinely sad to write a negative review about smarkets. The interface is by far the best around and the commissions for a small account are excellent at 2% on net profit.

I had originally planned to move over my Betfair Exchange account, as I immediately preferred the visuals of the smarkets platform and was pleasantly surprised by the liquidity in their football markets, albeit it is still generally less than the Betfair Exchange. Anyway, I thought I would test out the platform with a micro account just to get a feel for what I would be interacting with. Everything started well and I remained optimistic that this would become my preferred platform, however, a couple of days ago they had a major issue with their platform, which unfortunately occurred about an hour before a football match was due to start, that I had partial fills on, which opened my account up to an unacceptable level of risk for my strategy (circa 80% of my equity for that particular bet), in the event that the opposing team lost.

I contacted smarkets live support and email support to tell them the situation and that due to their platform's failures I was now unable to cut my losses or get my order filled and they showed little to no interest, stating that "they cannot guarantee that my orders are filled" which is not what I asked them to do by any means. I, amongst several others, believe that if a customer loses money due to a platform's unreliability, that these costs should be covered. There is a significant difference between somebody losing money on a pure gamble and another losing money due to failures of the platform.

In any case, the platform recovered in time for me to trade my way out of the bet at a profit, which the customer service rep. kindly reminded me of. I did, however, receive an apology and was advised that such events are a very rare occurrence. I decided to maintain my micro account and remained hopeful that it truly was an isolated incident.

Unfortunately, today for no reason whatsoever, I could not access my account for 10 mins or so, for no apparent reason (both mobile and web app). It's a shame, as I truly did enjoy the interface, but this level of unreliability is unacceptable, particularly when customer service effectively tell you "it's not our problem".

Hopefully Smarkets can improve their reliability and customer service and I may consider them again in the future, but for now, it's back to Betfair Exchange.

They don't have instant withdrawls, make you wait 1-6 days while they sit on your cash, limited to £20 withdraws!!! Yet instant deposit is not an issue in the slightest…BAM…it's in your Smarket account.1st and last time using, Betfair all the way from now on! Doubt the company will survive long as they will have no customers left

I wanted to check Smarkets out, as an alternative to Betfair, who are fine, but it's good to shop around. Deposited a small amount and then did some little £2 Lay the Draw bets, just to find my way around the site, checkout the interface. The first match had a goal in the 80th minute, but I hung around just to see the markets moves. I finally decided to trade out, confirmed the transaction and watched the small profit appear in my balance. The three outcomes (WLD) showed a profit irrespective of the final result. Then the other team got a penalty, the betting was suspended, a goal was scored and the money disappeared from my balance! The three outcomes now showed me having a loss on the laid draw. The game ended as a draw and I had indeed lost. I contacted live chat who told me the bet was not matched and the transaction was voided. What? The money was in the account, the profit was visible on the screen. I have never seen anything like it. Also, in as far as it is possible to discern through the medium of Live Chat, the support staff had an attitude, very abrupt and impolite. They had the cheek to tell me that nothing would show up in the balance until the match was complete. In other words, I was lying. Well, they were wrong, and should familiarize themselves with how the product operates. Like many others who have reviewed Smarkets negatively, I wish I had come on here and read the astonishing number of criticisms levelled at this organization – I would have saved myself some grief. The only positive is that I only put in £20 and not £200 as I would be very cheesed off right now. Give Smarkets a wide berth.

Easily the worst betting site online. They offer no free bets ever, poor odds, when you finally get good odds and place a winning bet the bet is voided with the excuse that the bet wasnt matched. I wish id visited here before i joined and saved £50. Steer clear

Been using Smarkets for a while having decided to switch from Betfair and use as my primary exchange. The fact they was offering accumulators on their exchange was a big plus and was the sole reason I decided to give them a go in the first place. Overall it has been a positive experience… up until recently that is. Their recent addition of their multiple bet system is very disappointing. For what is meant to be a "transparent" trading platform, is no longer. They play on the fact that this new system allows their customers to make up their own bets. However, the odds offered by using this system are absolutely appalling. It seems Smarkets have got too greedy for their own good and are taking a nice cut for themselves at their customers expense (on top of their commission tiers). All transparency has been lost and sadly as a result my trust in your services have too. Back to Betfair I go, at least they don't try and underhand their customers.

Recently signed up to this site, placed my first bet of £10 win on a horse 15 minutes before the off, the horse I backed had won but the bet was cancelled. I asked why, their response – it wasn't matched? PLEASE STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS DEVIOUS AND CONNING SITE

I am not sure if anyone has expereinced this the basic tier lets you place 1500 placed bets which is basically lie because their system does take into account unmatched bets or cancelled bets meaning example if you placed a bet and bet is cancelled before match/racing its still considered as placed bets and they dont have the ability to edit the existing bet. so if you have to cancel and re-place which is already considered as placed bets. BE AWARE

Used them for matched betting and in collaboration with Profit Accumulator been enjoying 0% commission for what feels like well over a year now. Normally plenty of liquidity to get my bets matched too. Not the range of sports like rivals Betfair but you can't argue with the 0%!

Just opened account a couple of weeks ago, they let you deposit with a credit card which is better than some exchanges I could mention. Interface is nice to use, it's very tempting to make more trades than you intended lol!

Commission rates are high but transparent, haven't tried making any withdrawal yet. Will report back in future. Other reviews made me glum, won't talk about them here. Keeping an open mind.

Excellent website and the fastest withdrawal process I have ever come across. All client money is secure, check out the HBF Register of Protection of Funds website.
Deposits and withdrawals very quick and easy using their Open Banking option. I withdrew funds at 10pm and the money was in my account at 5am the next day and this speed is typical of other withdrawals made. Only slight issue is that Live chat could do with a quicker response and an automated acknowledgement that the chat is live.

Signed up,placed one bet,they suspended my account,sent all the documents they requested then they sent me an email saying we wont be able to offer you an account and this wont be reversed, didnt even tell me why

If you win £25.000 within a year they are switching you to 3% commission not only on your winning bets but also on your LOSING ONES too !!!
U have no idea how easy it is to reach £25k especially when you do matched betting and some occassional bets. You provide them with liqiuidity and thats how they repay you. They couldnt even be bothered to reset your net profit for the year before they implemented new commission and so if you had hit £30.000 before the implementation they would have put you on 3% on the very first day !
Not very fair if u ask me.
Withdrew all of my money.
Bye bye smarkets, moving back to betfair 2% (Winning bets ONLY) !

Awful site allowed my wife to join even though she was registered with gamstop!! No checks done and allowed her to lose hundreds of pounds needlessly!!!

These organisations have no remorse and will drain every resource you have!!!

For such a limited amount of markets it has good liquidity, Im guessing smarkets means small amount of markets. Just offring win only on the darts matches in play like whats the point?

What a dreadful company. Still heard nothing as to why my account was closed. No reason after many years of gambling with them. I am respectable with a dam good salary and like winners…and they close me down. To all you punters..if you are a loser SMarkets love you..if you are a winner I suggest you play with betfair or Ladbrokes. I will never touch this company again. I look forward to seeing you collapse.

After many successful years betting with SMarkets they close my account for no reason. I would suggest to anyone betting with this appalling exchange to stick to betfair and betdaq..it would not surprise me if SMarkets went the same way as Matchbook…my advice get your money out while you can and close this exchange fast

Good liquidity and there are some decent bots which top up the liquidity on quite a few markets if it isn't there. It's also one of few exchanges that offer 0% commission when arbitrage betting which is very useful and increases profits exponentially 🙂

I also use Smarkets for the majority of my matched betting activity.

The more profit you make, the more they limit the number of bets you can place and will charge more commission. Greedy site better to use betfair without restrictions and less commission

First of all, never had issues with payments or anything like that. I've been a Smarkets user for over 3 years.
Beware that some bets do sometimes get cancelled, being classified as erroneous bets. Happens to me once every two months or so. If you see some odds that are too good to be true.. expect that your bets might get cancelled. There's potential to lose some money with this. Overall having a positive experience so far.
However, lately, their different commission tiers are making the exchange less and less attractive to me. I just got moved (or a better word would be "forced") to the "Select" tier where I need to pay 3% commission on both profit and loses for each bet. This is TRIPLE compared to the previous commission. I was not even eligible (or so I thought), but it turns out they had a bug on their website showing my winnings figure for the last year in pounds, but with a euro symbol. I was supposed to have under 30000 euro winnings for 2019 to keep my commission tier. It turns out I had 30300 euro winnings, even though the website was displaying ~26000. I got forced onto the new commission tier, being 1% over their limit without knowing it, where I could have easily avoided it, and now I just have to live with the consequences of their bug. Not to mention that this got announced very late in the year, and there was no sort of "balance reset" as they've previously done with their monthly limits for the pro tier so that they don't catch people off-guard. Increasing the commission by 200% should never be done with such a short notice.
Not very happy about this, now it will be "at Smarket's discretion" as they state in their T&C's if I will ever be put back on the "Pro" tier if I make less profits in a calendar year.
Originally moved to Smarkets from Betfair because of lower commission, but now it seems like they somehow managed to get the commission to be worse than on Betfair for me.

I first signed up to Smarkets when offered 0% commission using OddsMonkey. I used Smarkets for only matched betting. However, as time went on I used Smarkets for higher stakes betting, and understandbly due to the fact I did LESS matched betting and more high stakes gambling, they moved me onto 2% commission. This is now the same commission that Betfair charge. It's OK, I prefered the Smarkets platform even though they had less liquidity (almost always).

The problem was, on the start of the new year I was moved onto "Select Tier". This is the highest amount of commission payable, 3% commission. This was due to the fact I made over £25,000 "profit" on my Smarkets account. I never traded markets, I never really understood that. I started matched betting then starting gambling with large stakes. The gambling was somewhat successful but that and a mixture of matched betting and arbing lead to the profits to be over that amount. I can only assume I'm misunderstanding something and costing them more due to the fact I'm winning, which doesn't make me fully understand as it's P2P betting, right? If that wasn't the case, why up my commission?

Now, due to the 3% commission it would be unwise for me to ever use them again. This is because Betfair now offer all their customers 2% commission, and have much larger liquidity.

Sadly, I've now withdrew my Smarkets funds and will now have to use Betfair Exchange to fulfill my needs. A company which I am not too fond of. So long Smarkets.

Love hate relationship with this lot. Everything goes great and 0% commission via offers for certain period but payouts take forever. Will rather stick with Betfair and gladly pay 5% extra for the instant payout efficiency! Shame. Could be great, but no excuse in this day and age to take so long to approve withdrawals. Moving on!

The problem with this company is that they call themselves an Exchange when in reality they are all but a Bookmaker. They limit the amount of bets you can place and they do not welcome traders and have the most unfair T's and C's where they can force you on to a separate commission tier where you pay per transaction rendering trading obsolete.

Their CEO, Jason Trost has the audacity to call Smarkets 'fair and transparent' when in fact it is the complete opposite. It is anything but fair to move a customer on to a different commission tier whenever they like.

You will not find one other betting company that charges commission on losing bets. You will not find one other Exchange where they do not allow you to trade. A bit of a stupid company in all honesty who are only looking for matched bettors and arbers throwing away all the value.

Normally use Betfair but thought I’d give Smarkets a try. Seems pretty good liquidity massively improved since I last looked a year ago. I like how you can lay and back in small multiplies on Betfair minimum bet is £2. Obviously you don’t want to back a 500 /1 shot at £2 but sometimes need a bit of cover in your bets for a outsider that front runs and might just hold on like a bet I had recently at Salisbury at 300/1 on the exchange. So the fact you can cover some higher priced horse at small stakes and still make money from the front of the market is a massive advantage. The £2 minimum on Betfair can eat into any profit otherwise. Here small bets make Little difference but reduce any liability from unusual outsider wins. I don’t think the tools are as good for trading as Betfair but as I tend to scalp the market or Dutch my bets and leave them in running it works for me. Overall a reasonable site. I can see that people complain about matched/unmatched bets and that doesn’t seem as slick as Betfair but still easy to see if you are matched or not. I expect people have been caught out leaving an unmatched bet active which then causes them a liability If matched in running.

An awful exchange who have placed a bet on my account and are refusing to refund me the £800 liability. When talking to customer service they end the conversation and refuse to address the issue simply stating it was done from my account. I have now lost out of £800 as the bet was obviously not placed on a bookies (BECAUSE I DID NOT PLACE THIS) where do I go for my refund?
