When I go to place bet on sports book whatever horse I bet goes down 10 ticks. Example From 2.14 to 2.04. this never goes to my advantage always down, it’s not on. **AVOID** They make depositing money super easy, however, when it comes to withdrawing YOUR money, it’s virtually impossible! I’ve given up trying to withdraw the funds I have with them, so my money is now Smarkets money. What a SCAM.

Beyond sickened at this company. When going through their very intrusive verification they had spotted £50 borrowed from a now deceased friend 6months ago. Nothing to do with smarkets or my bets in general yet they want the bank statement of deceased friend. They will continue to withhold my funds otherwise. sickening. Avoid

I got a deposit limit of 2% (!) of my income that I provided evidence for. They are effectively limiting me for no reason at all. Wouldn’t recommend using this exchange to anyone.

From the outset this didn’t go well. They initially accepted my deposit then immediately froze my account until I did an ID process which would have looked much more professional and credible the other way around.After a few days this was lifted I just place occasional bets on football matches and just cut and run if its winning in game. On Saturday afternoons European time the system can get laggy to the point of freezing and cashing out is impossible this has happened several times.Then I found that they would cover all games in a league EXCEPT the one I wanted, it just wasn’t there.The final straw as cited by so many is that after several months they have come looking for proof of funds / income / savings IT NEVER ENDS. The amount of sensitive data that I have sent to this clearly dodgy company is way beyond any safe measure and all they do is ask for more. I have had enough and am exercising my right to have my data erased. It is insulting, massively over intrusive and as so many others have found ENDLESS.They have frozen my account and every time I submit anything it is days before they respond and it is always the same, they want MORE data and more copies of that which they have already asked for.I am only giving 1 star because I have to.

Like everyone else, I’m having issues with removing the suspension on my account due to outstanding documents to verify my source of wealth. They asked for my October payslip to remove the suspension. I could not find it so I sent a saving account statement in the hopes that this evidence that I can afford to bet. They said they can accept my October payslip. I had to contact my employer for the payslip to send to them, and now they are asking for I acquired my savings. How much do I need to prove in order to place a bet now and then? I feel like they’re on the borderline of breaching confidentiality! I would recommend using other exchanges, such as Matchbook, as they offer similar competitive rates without the hassle of supplying an excessive amount of evidence about your wealth/income.

I have had an absolute gutful of this firm and their incompetence. Twice today i have gone to place bets on horses only for no odds to be available and the horse goes and wins. #First time CS said there was no error, even through sent them a screenshot, second time they said they will flag it to the team but was too lateIts been like this virtually every other day one fault or another, its a shambles, how can you not have an app that works? If its not odds unavailable its error when trying to place a bet . Their stock reply is to tell you to reinstall the app which never does a thingIve been very patient but its not gotten better in months and its costing me money so back to betfair

Do not use. You can’t even withdraw your winnings to the bank account you made deposit with – you can only withdraw what you paid in in the first place.

£5,000 Locked for over 3 months. No email reply, shut down their phone line. Seems like they are in financial trouble. Avoid and just read the number of people this is happening to.

They ask for more evidence than a mortgage provider does and refuse to answer emails once you have provided this evidence. I have over £8k in this exchange, i’ve provided evidence as soon as they have asked for and i have not heard from them for over 2 months. I have emailed them countless times ad nothing. They have disconnected there phone number too!

I have been using the platform for almost 5 years when suddenly having a deposit restriction applied. I was given no communication or explanation. They advertise matched betting on their own site, they know I have no gambling problem and am using it for system betting but continue to impose deposit limits. Absurd. Advice to matched betters, use another exchange, they could stop your account at any minute without warning. Not to mention every time there’s a big event they have capacity issues and you have to suffer the pain of moving to another exchange anyway. Just use one of them anyway.

UNTRUSTWORTHY & DISHONEST.. a disgrace to the betting exchanges.. i have witnessed today smarkets.com had TOP GOALSCORER on its app for the WORLD CUP market and they have changed it over to GOLDEN BOOT WINNERThis is 2 very different markets, namely because only 1 player can win golden boot whilst u can have 4 winners for top goalscorer if lets say for example 4 players all scored 5 goals.Its a disgrace, my next phone call is to the gambling commission as this is clearly a breach of trust, i have just closed down my account, i do not deal with a trading platform that can completely change the market, its just disgraceful.GOLDEN BOOT AND TOP GOALSCORER have totally different outcomes, u cannot just change a market.. brainless is an understatement, its time this company gets reprimanded

I’m in shock to see the most recent reviews about Smarkets, I have never had a problem all the years that I have traded with them. They do at times have technical issues, but that is to be expected. One thing I have noticed recently is that there is a slight time delay on my bet showing up on the lay side, hopefully this is a technical issue because it looks like I haven’t placed the bet straight away.

The app needs fixing. It was down yesterday on horse racing and then last night for the football, its just not good enough. The staff reply to you quickly enough but theres only so much they can do as they need to forward it onto the technical team, if this was a one off I would be okay but its most days now there is a problemSbk really need to get a competent IT team or someone who can maintain an app. You go really good odds and then mess it up with an app that keep messing upeven when I log in error saying price is unavailable or maximum is £10 even on the sportsbookAs for the review below saying the reviews are unjust? People can only comment on what they experience. Shouldnt need to constantly have to complain before the app is fixed. Have you any idea how frustrating it is when you cant get your bet on and it wins? Cant comment on SOW as not happened yet but if it did I would be off/ They would have 5 stars if they app and liquidity was sorted

I’m going to be completely honest, I only used Smarkets for about a month but that was long enough for problems to start arising. Since I joined Smarkets I was really happy with the service. The reason I went with them is because they seemed more transparent, more open, claiming “We don’t care if you win or lose!” (plain lie by the way, they care about that more anything else). Everything was smooth, efficient, easy to use. Seemed great but issues came when they started asking for verification information after I deposited large amounts to make big bets. Absolute nightmare…At first I didn’t mind, makes sense they might want to check for legal purposes. I gave them my passport scan, I told them about my job etc. But then I started getting emails asking me for the same info I already provided, saying they will close my account… Then they asked for bank statements and my recent payslip… Then they started to pick up on specific transactions I was making to my savings account and started asking to see those statements… More requests kept coming, they wouldn’t accept a transactions list even though it shows the exact same thing. Request after request. Several days later I couldn’t be bothered messing around with them anymore and left. It’s clear that if you’re betting big and subsequently winning, they don’t want you and will try and find a way to get rid of you. They do care if you win or lose, if you’re winning big they don’t want you, if you’re losing they want you.

Closed my account down after providing them with the blood of my firstborn child, and more financial information about me than even my own bank holds.Their reason was “they were concerned about my level of spending” but even after providing proof of match betting they still weren’t satisfied.Customer service staff useless, took nearly two weeks for them to perform these ‘source of wealth’ checks, and when they finally finished they came to the most idiotic conclusion!and by the way they’ll be wanting 3 months of bank statements from any account thats transferred into your own, and will ask you to explain any/all transfers, then even when you comply, close your account on an idiotic wrong footed basis.As well as this they want screenshots of account history at other bookies. AVOID!!!

Been with Smarkets for almost 9 years, literally had my account suspended with no warning, no notice… no courtesy this is what we are doing, no phone call… no knowing if I was exposed by any bets, took 36 hours to actually get that info…. turns out they want Source of wealth checks… this will be my 5th time providing them, would have been no bother but if this is how you treat customers you can do one… my business is going elsewhere… will email you next year and you can return rest of my balance… turns out you emailed me once dated 28/09 sorry was hidden in all the spam you send daily I missed it… no follow up email, no phone call just suspended… very very poor showing…. Money returned I’ll stick to betfair going forward

Speaking from my own experience, the bad reviews of Smarkets are unjust. I’ve bet with them for years and never had any problem. They also have some of the best odds around and relatively low commission. Highly reccomend both Smarkets and Matchbook for those seeking a reliable betting exchange.

worst exchange out there. i managed to have three wins on a trot and they suspended my account. couldnt withdraw my winnings until i set up another pay in method. withdrew £220 and they only paid £60 of it. shocking company to deal with. will never go near them again.

Used smarkets for nearly 11 years with only a few problems. I agree with the reviews saying the site is not well designed, but after a while you get used to it. Also the commision structure is very unfair. As a previous review said 1500 bets and your commsion changes – permanently. It doesnt matter if those bets are matched or not. They actually changed my commision after 80% of the 1500 bets (1200).Makes trading almost impossible as I would in the past try and trade a race with as many as 200 bets. If I do 6 races Im done for.Anyway… I wouldve given 4 stars up until a few weeks ago, but then they closed my account and refuse to give any indication of why. I have searched the forums and found no less than 10 cases of accounts closed in the last few weeks – the only thing they have in common is that they were all winning accounts !!!!No, why would an exchange that supposedly makes its money solely from commision on bets between customers close winning accounts ???I am sure you can draw your own conclusions.You only have to look at the markets for a few hours to see what is really happening.Is it illegal? I dont know.But it is definistely misleading.

This is out-rightly a scam venture , do not go anywhere near this company at all .They are set out to rip clients. . They act like they make you money, the site shows it but but won’t allow you to take any of it back out.After weeks of working with refund office **Expert reclaim^^& we have been able to get the money released. When you back the lower end prices of football matches I e 1.01,1.02,1.03,1.04etc in running you up ould expect them to be at least the same price as the bookmakers,or higher ,I’ve checked them regularly with bet 365 and not once have they been higher,most times lower and many 1.03prices and 1.,02 have been 1.01 or no price at all offered ,this is not rare but the norm ,I’ve had to put a date on 1/10/2022 but this is the case every single day ,I thought exchanges were supposed to give you better odds than bookmakers ,this is not the case with smarkets ,check the factscif you think I’m kidding

It’s just really disappointing. They could be great but just constant bugs and errors. It would be great if it actually worked. It’s really frustrating not being able to get bets onYesterday a horse race wasnt available to bet, just blank next to name of horses where the odds should beThen today a race at catterick was missing on the sportsbook with a few horses not available to bet onWhen you contact customer service they just fob you off telling you that you should have contacted them before the race was off but how can you do that when you log on a minute before the off?I notice they don’t bother replying on here.

Had site issues at least 10 times the past 3 weeks including each saturday during the 3pm games.Had 2 friends have their accounts closed without warning since the football season started, only a matter of time until they close mine.The site is so buggy i dont trust it enough to leave a bet inplay incase their bot hoovers any money before they suspend the market, ive seen so many bets gets hoovered up by their bot its a joke.

Twice today I’ve got the error message ‘bet is currently unavailable’ on the horses.Even when I managed to get on I was only offered a pathetic £30 on a horse to place at 1.82 yet when I went to click place bet it dropped to 1.70.. This wasn’t on the exchange but sportsbook . Another time 1.91 became 1.8 when I went to place it. Not acceptable . Each time you don’t want the bet you have to cancel and resubmit. Very tedious Customer service gave me a load of babble on my query so thought I’d post on here.Football bet offered me just £26 on what I wanted. Not worth the whileAlso why are there no live pictures or USA racing? it’s 2022 not 2001

Despite bad reviews on here I think Smarkets have potential. They have excellent volume. However, they will (I agree) fail if they maintain a website that is impossible to navigate-cluttered up by pointless graphs. I met the founder once-bright man-but if he doesn’t have the acumen to remedy a relatively simple problem they won’t last.

Glad to see I’m not alone in thinking Smarkets are rubbish to deal with. I layed 42 bets over a month totalling £6300, all of a sudden Smarkets for whatever unknown reason contacted me to say the maximum I can deposit into my account is £500 which is obviously totally useless, trying to get a reasonable explanation for this from their (I use this term very loosely) customer services was like talking to a wall. Off to Betfair for me

Odds keep going down. You click on an event and it’ll offer 2.12 but when you click submit it drops to 2.02. the odds are never there and odds always go down never up. I went on live chat and they just waffled on without answering meI don’t understand the message below about closing down an account for winning. Aren’t they meant to be an exchange ??

The 5 star review below telling you to ignore the bad reviews has to be a joke Lots of events are that bad there’s no liquidity. Not even €1. Southwell this afternoon 3.53 no liquidity on the top 2 in the betting not a penny available to bet onJust a blank space next to the name of the horses. The same happened in race 6 at Ponty as well. Top 3 betting nope not a chanceWhen you can get on something you’re forever getting the message stake too large and bet is not matched It’s ridiculous way to run a site C.S no help if you want to complain. Awful and misleading practice from this company!They are not even bookmakers and will confuse/fool you in with “lay bet” for which the client never gets his money credited in to his balance even if it’s a winner!They even take pride in saying that they take a low commission on all your bets while other competitors don’t take a single penny on your bets ?? How bold and dishonest!Run away from those scammers!! I have shut my account after losing my money.
