Betting limits

It is important to read the terms and conditions of Vernons relating to maximum winnings. Below you will see one of their clauses which is very unclear.

“We reserve the right to impose limits on the Winnings accruing from any one bet placed on a particular event or sport (regardless of the stake or whether the bet has been placed through more than one separate channel), such limit to be notified by Us to you from time to time”

In-play experience

The Vernons live offer includes in-play, fast markets and Asian handicaps for live betting. We think the interface is way too congested though. It
has a lot of white space which will appeal to many people but events are not very clearly laid out.

Live streaming

Vernons does not currently supply any live streaming of events.

The Vernons website has quite an old fashioned look to it on the main splash page where you will find their main offers of casino, sports and bingo.

Once you click through on sports then it takes you to a much more modern betting interface. The colour scheme uses blue as its main colour with red and white used in heading sections and text.

The layout has a left side which is split into a number of sections and these include:

The centre section is where you will find all the In-play betting where you will have Live Now, Upcoming Bets and Upcoming Races. At the top of this section you will find a set of tabs which allow you to drill down to a specific sport.

On the right side of the page you will find the bet slip section and here they have a section called “Popular Bets” and this contains 5 selected suggestions as an accumulator. There is also a calculator tool which allows you to enter a stake from £1 to £250 and see potential winnings.

In terms of other content, the statistics and live score tools in the bottom left menu offer punters some help in determining some vaue bets.

When we looked and compared prices on top level football matches, we found that Vernon’s were consistently lower in terms of odds value. Looking at a selection of premier League matches we found that the odds were shorter for the home win, shorter for the draw and much the same for the away win when compared to other mainstream online sportsbooks.

Although the odds were not the strongest point, you will find a very good selection of markets on football betting.

In terms of world-wide football, thwey offer betting from 73 different countries with a combined amount of leagues that goes well over 200. For the major European Leagues you will see anywhere from 140 – 160 separate markets on every game.

The In-Play interface will not appeal to all punters as it has a bit of an old fashioned feel to it, but if functionality and ease of use are important to you, then the Vernons In-play betting interface is really very good.

All live events are held in a left hand menu with the middle section holding all the odds info and match data. The match data section shows all what has already happened in the game and is updated very quickly. This section gives you the opportunity to spot short price betting opportunities.

At present Vernon’s have just one sports offer which is on European league darts.
