“Nanny” was only meant to be rhyming slang, but the Tote has really taken its nickname to heart. Refused to lift £500 a month deposit limit, despite me giving them 3 months’ bank statements showing £15,000 in my current account, my passport and driving license, and answering all their nosy questions. Marathonbet are simply liars. The say they have great bonuses and promotions but I’ve deposited £1262 and only received a £1 free bet. I have been using Marathonbet since January 2021 and had no problems as long as I was losing money. I was making regular deposits, and was able to withdraw twice using the same method without any issues (although the second time took longer, and was only processed when I lost a lot of money and made another deposit before they had processed the withdrawal).
I was playing roulette one day and got lucky and made a big win and decided to withdraw part of my winnings. I was asked to provide documents once again and after I did, I got an email saying my account had been verified for the second time. I was then limited to 5 dollar bets on that particular roulette where I won (which I can understand, but am not too happy about).
One day later, they sent me another email asking me for a picture of myself next to my ID, which I sent them. (Honestly, it felt a bit like a mugshot).
I haven’t received an answer since then, and the amount I had requested to withdraw was returned to my balance at Marathonbet. I got in touch with them through the chat and got no answers or explanations for what they did, and was asked to wait for an email indefinitely.
After reading the reviews here, I feel like I shouldn’t waste any more time and write an official complaint, as the amount I have with them is fairly big.
Could anyone please help me with the name and contact details of the relevant authorities to file the complaint with?
I would not recommend Marathonbet to anyone. They refuse to process withdrawal requests and ask for far too many documents, which is quite scary, given everything we know about identity theft. Nothing on the internet is 100% secure, and having to send all of those documents online puts you at great risk, especially when there really is no justification for that.
