I have used Matchbook for over a year and at first I had a high impression of the exchange — the markets were good, the site was fast, and it appeared trustworthy. Lately, however, it seems to be going downhill. Last week it ran a promotion: bet £10 on each team scoring in a football match and if the bet loses, the £10 wagered will be refunded. It was not made clear, however, that the £10 refunded could not be withdrawn and would have to be used to make another wager, where only the winnings would be paid if the wager succeeded. What was presented as no-risk wager was not, in fact no-risk at all. I have raised this matter twice with customer support, and had no response. I am very disappointed with Matchbook as I thought it offered a clear alternative to Betfair, where the commission charged is higher. However, it appears that it is just another site which seeks to pull the punters in to relieve them of their cash, even though it professes to be a commission-only betting exchange. I suspect the money wagered on last week's promotion was covered by the company itself, in which case it is no better than any high street bookmaker. Very shoddy.

I play on matchbook for years. I bet a lot of markets for years. and never had any problems, but in this august they asked me source of funds. I send a lot of screens and documents, but they asked me to send more… I translated all documents and send, but they stil wanted me to send more documents… and my account is still locked. I dont know why they do this… I sent document off my rent apartment income, they said that it was not enough. Than i sent document that also i have won money in other bookie, but they need more and more documents, but i doont know what they want.?

Good commission, big markets are always available. Everything looks good, I just wish that it would have more markets, easier search engines, easier interface of upcomming matches, in play etc. That you could have more filters.

Looks good and the customer service is great!!!
However, some liquidity issues with certain bets but I am sure this will pick up as the company grows.
I am enjoying using them so that must be a sing of good business.

So I have to say i found the live chat help, very hepful. Unlike some sites where it's almost impossible to even find. They were quick and responsive and were able to explain clearly, the kind of odd withdrawal policy. The site offers great value if you were able to get a 0% commission offer. I have found a few unmatched orders disappear but i belive this has to do with my old mans clicking ability. So I would fully reccommend Matchbook and the only reason i don't give the full top score is because theres always little things that can improve. But It is Excellent.

A great place to bet with a wide range of sports available. The good thing is that unlike with a bookmaker you can create your own odds and wait if you get matched or accept the odds available, or you can bet against the team or a horse that you think won't win. They also have a nice casino with a lot of good slots and some nice bonuses.

i have deposit and play after few bets they ask me neteller transaction history as edd document … i sended all documents of my ewallet transaction but not its more then 5 days my account still lock with my funds od around 9000$ this is very worst exchange i have ever used . now iam hoping atleast my money they will refund and if it happens then i will never use matchbook again in my life … looking forward to trade in betfair its much better then this thieves

Been exchange betting (putting in 50+hours most weeks and placing ridiculous amounts of bets) for just over a year and rarely had issues with matchbook. Deposits are fast and efficient when speed is important getting money into the account and withdrawals are pretty quick as well.

Negatives are the site does go down for 'maintenance' a bit too much, although that seems to have improved quite a lot over the past few weeks. Also a way of 'locking' a bet so you can't have more than the first amount entered matched when changing odds would be great, horse racing odds can be mental at times and if you try to get lower/higher odds accepted by adjusting your original bet, sometimes it matches at your initial odds and then the new odds so from 'one' bet using £200 as an example you could easily match well over £200. Overall with how sly bookies and even other exchanges (Smarkets!) can be at times, these 2 flaws aren't enough to take off a star!

EDIT: The search function is pretty poor actually, if a sporting team name use diacritics, it won't appear?!

better than smarkets in that they dont actively try to steal from you but crashes all the time which can be annoying. saturdays are the worst and the exchange slows down to a disgusting speed almost every time… i did a £50 each way bet over the weekend 5 minutes before the race as thats when matchbook odds were decent, and the site was so slow i was unable to lay the win or the place part off 5 MINUTES BEFORE THE RACE because it was so slow, but got lucky in that my horse placed so came out in the green, but i know that next time the horse loses and i lose £100 from this…

i would steer clear of matchbook on saturdays… just stick to betfair

They were my go-to place for my football bets for more than a year until they ruined everything with "source of funds question". I had my account verified and didn't even deposit big amounts in total I lost about €500 or so. I work online so I don't have classic paycheck/ proving that "I own my money" (BTW they have my name on my card / in my Neteller account…) and I provided them with multiple screenshots, the email guy was rude and keeps asking for things I've already provided. so i left them and went back to good old bet365 and Betfair.
maybe they have a 2% commission but they don't know how to treat a customer.

i have been with matchbook for over 8 months now and i can honestly say that i have never had a problem.My bets are always matched instantly and clearly states what your bet is.Customer service on the live chat is great, always instant to connect and helpful.
The site is very easy to use and the pages not crowded like other sites.The best bit is being alble to see up to twenty of the next horse races,football matches etc on one page which is great for picking your bets.Never had a problem withdrawing funds either.I have seen comments by others about getting charged on withdraws but this is because they have not had many bets before withdrawing,read the terms and conditions nothing is hidden.Also it makes things easier if you deposit from your debit card not things like neteller.

Matchbook is a good bookie with a very good website that can be navigated easily. On the in-play betting, they offer live betting in several markets and especially in football. They have a customer service running from 8am – 1am, live chat, email, and phone number. Withdrawals and deposits can be done via e-wallets and cards.
