Didnt even dignify me with a response and bumped my commission structure up; despite me being a long-term, loyal customer. Obviously I'll take just take my money elsewhere but worth noting; they don't care about your business.

Lack of support for higher tier matched bettors & affiliates, don't forget about the braindead verification team. Context: I've been a matched bettor for the last 5 years, the last 3 months on smarkets has been a NIGHTMARE, I've been having constant back and forth with my account being locked & higher level of verification required to go about my day to day job of matched betting. I showed them months of paypal & bank transactions with bookmaker withdrawals/ deposits to prove im a matched bettor & showed my wealth / current lines of credit & even balances in other exchanges. But they already know im a matched bettor as I've bene affiliating them for the last 5 years. After continued weeks of arguing with them to tell me clearly what they want from me, they just kept repeating the same crap that i need to prove my wealth, even tho i literally showed them everything. I ask them to tell me exactly what they want and they dodge the question. Oh well, guessing matchbook will enjoy my 500k-1m a month staking. P.S The only positive reviews are their staff faking them hahah

Matched Betting has been a revelation this year and Smarket's has been the back bone of all my bets. Easy to navigate, zero commission offer and fast access to my money when needed. Only reason not to give them a 5 is place odds could be easier/quicker to locate, especially when speed is of the essence!

Wiped off my 181 pound balance . I placed my multiple bets and I won . I had a balance of 281 placed bet of 100 at team B then I placed 181 on team A. Team A won the match so I must get 312 pound . But when I check the balance zero , I contacted them they said your overall lose is this and bet statements are manipulated.. dont trust this scam company . Its located in Malta.. gaming companys located in Malta are just phishy.. join with companys located in United kingdom..

Had a position on the Portugal Croatia game, I layed the draw late on, the bet matched and I yellowed up (winning whichever eventuality) Portugal scored which gave me my best position, the money was in my account then a few seconds after the goal my bet was voided. Unopened live chat and a very rude and arrogant customer support rep tried to explain to me about matched pending. I know what i saw and I'll never use them again. Judging by the comments in here I'll not waste my time with complaining as it's not worth my time, you live and learn

I met Jason Trost (ceo) at a conference - he was young, pretty dynamic and I figured that all would be well for Smarkets going forward. I seem to remember that their offices were open plan with a pretty relaxed atmosphere - anyway it is clear that years later that atmosphere is too relaxed - 'one hand doesn't seem to know what the other is doing' and my experience with them was poor and very frustrating. A pity because their software / platform is good. Won't be returning.

Always used them but this past few months have been terrible. Three times they haven't paid on games and held money up for hours/days. No apologies which for a big company is terrible. Out of pocket with them so won't be using.

Have messaged their ceo, first time using since jan when opened the account. Bet cancelled even though the game went ahead, I asked today for my money to be deposited back into my account and closed, no sorry no nothing just discon chat and account closed within seconds. Opened an account around middle of October 2020. Made quite a few deposits and a few withdrawals over the course of 3 weeks. Suddenly , they suspended my account for absolutely no reason. The only reason I can think is because I won more than I lost. I'm not going to bother questioning why. It's their loss. Absolute joke of a company.

It's a pity that this site has its occasional downtime where everything goes to crap.last time it took them 2 days to get everything right again, was able to withdraw ok though. Other than that, if you can put up with the problems, this site is good, liquidity sometimes not as good as betfair, but interface quick and easy. I like the way it changes your bet in your favour when you bet on lower odds but part of your bet is available at better odds. Withdrawal could be quicker though, instant like betfair/paddy would be good

Smarkets has literally taken money out of my account (over £400 worth) without any explanation. They had sitewide issues leading to me being unable to trade during peak hours however this was just put down to technical issues. Any bets that were settled over this period of time had the liability taken away and never restored to my account. I have emailed and contacted their live chat service who are frankly the worst and most rude people I have ever encountered in my life. Finally thought I had this sorted when they credited the majority of liability back to my account however I have now logged in and seen they have taken that BACK out my account?! Cannot emphasise enough not to use this exchange, will be contacted ibas and the gambling commission which I implore others who have similar issues to do so.

Can’t describe in words to people to avoid this tin pot outfit. Originally had an outage of their site leaving multiple bets unsettled last week, leaving thousands of pounds in liabilities missing from my account. Tried to get some sort of explanation from their live chat yet was told this would be sorted in due time. Horrendous customer service all round and their operatives were pretty clear they couldn’t care less. Emailed multiple times asking for my money put back into my account and they have ended up taking even more money out as an “admin credit,” telling me to contact IBAS if I have an issue with their protocols. Have used Smarkets for over 5 years throughout the multiple issues that have arisen however this is a final straw and I hope everyone who has had money taken off these crooks to report them to the gambling commission.

Bet locked in for almost 4 days. I do not know how much it will cost them to just pay everyone for the winning out of their own cashflow for that 3-4 hours of outage, but it is worth it the lost of trust at this point is massive and who bet with a bookie they don't trust.

Used them for last 2 years; last month has been terrible with many site outages; Most recent outage has left me waiting over 49 hours (and counting they said they are going through each account one by one which could take weeks!!!) to get my money back from a bet that runs into the hundreds. Betting went down across a busy Champions League period straight after kick-off as well, leaving it impossible for an in play trading. Will be withdrawing my money if it ever gets released and use another site.

Poor customer support on live chat.... contacted them to find out if i received the welcome bonus, twice the agent disconnected the chat window, then they ignored my questions, pointed me towards the terms and conditions, then eventually answered the question and although it turned out the bonus had been applied, because they have a weird way of doing it, it was not easy to see, I questioned it again and rather that explaining how it works, they gave me a rude response and then disconnected the chat window.

What an awful company, they need to take a course in manners, and how to treat customers with respect. I am going to complain to the gambling commission about the way i have been treated, not sure it will do any good to be honest, i placed a bet on the football which was matched,, only for a couple of hundred pound, bet won which im grateful. this was over a week ago,, no money was put into my balance, and am still waiting, i have instructed my lawyers to now continue with this,i tried to communicate with them, but fell on deaf ears,, they dont seem to bothered or know how to treat people with respect. Reading all of the reviews on this site,, there does seem a common fault,, lack of customer skills, always looking to blame anyone and everyone , apart from themselves. Stay clear , if you want a nice trouble free betting experience go elsewhere.

Make money (25k in a year) and you're effectively banned. They move you to a 3% profit AND loss tier. If your p/l for the year goes below the 25k profit you have to write an email begging them to be allowed back onto the standard tier. It is at their discretion if they let you back on. (We know which way that will end up and it won't be good news.) This should be in the list of bookmakers NOT exchanges. AND: The site is down every Saturday.

Never do they apologies or admit to their mistakes, poor people skills at best, i kept telling them of the bad service they are giving customers and that feedback is good, they didnt want to listen. Here goes, i bet on a dog race in Australia, the market was still open , as the winner crossed the line, unlike with other betting exchanges , on the off, or hare running , the market ceases. not with smarkets open to fraudulent practice. told them , nothing done about it. Place market, if you are familar with the number of places per runners in each race you will know what i am saying next. They pay you 2 places from 5/7 runners declared, 3 places for 8/15 runners declared , and 16 and over if a handicap 4 places. the same as ALL the high street bookmakers and indeed Betfair. now if 9 runners are declared and 2 are withdrawn , they still pay out for 3 places,, or should do, as per there own rules and guidlines. Used Smarkets for about five years now, their customer service has always been dismal, without doubt the rudest, "not my problem" attitude I have experienced. That was excusable however as their commission is low. Lately however I've had a few cases where the site just doesn't show any odds, completely blank. Empty boxes with no numbers in them. This only happens once a week or so, but tends to happen on Saturdays when the most action is taking place. Naturally their customer service on the site blame my Internet connection and they can't even be bothered to reply on their Twitter accounts. I've always been vocal that the only reason this company exists is because Betfair charge 5% commission however as Betfair have recently dropped their commission to 2%, I'll be jumping ship. There's no excuse for their rubbish attitude towards their customers and it's going to cost them.

It's really a 4 star but I had to balance off a lot of the nonsense 1 star reviews I have seen. Would be 5 stars if they offered anything after the account opening promo -no reward for using the site. Most of the negative reviews are people finding out their bet didn't match, so it was never placed. I would imagine it is easily done but it's still a user error not the site. This isn't betting with the bookmaker, it's an exchange.

I have used this company for several years now and i was enjoying their interface and the fact that theres a lot of liquidation in the horses i am laying... however firstly there customer service agents are RUDE in the way they talk to you. I have been reporting an issue now for at least since cheltenham festival 2019 is the earliest i can remember, god i have probably reported in excess of 300 races . The issue is when a non runner is taken out of a race, the race on some occasions has not had the liquidation go back into the race, i believe they have to send some signal for the bots to have all the aotomatic money return to the race, without this theres maybe 100 pound liquidation covering the whole field...its absurd , for months now i am asking them please have a member of your team check races 15 minutes after a non runner has been removed because without me the races are like it for 3 , 4 or last saturday from 8am until 4.45pm when i reported it, its ridiculous. No other exchange has this problem, i have gone back to matchbook i am sick of doing their jobs and making this company money, without me a lot of races are barely getting bet on and hey are making no 2% commission, what do i get in return for reporting maybe 50 - 100 if not more races per year..i get nothing except attitude from customer service agents that answer my call... WORST EXCHANGE COMPANY EVER, please guys go to any other company but these

An Unreliable platform, awful customer service and they seem to fabricate liquidity in their markets so when you go to place a bet or lay there simply isn’t the money there the platform is claiming. Now Betfair offer 2% commission not a single reason to use them. Simply awful.

Negative-the customer service is something bellow horrible, I have submitted Proof of ID and POA as I do with other bookies and I never faced any issue, today the rejected both, I do have experience on that stuff and I can reassure, there are nothing wrong with those paper, the guy even asked full page of bank statement what is wrong.. the need to see the address, name, date... never bank transactions.. As I have contested they're method and applied for refund of my deposit(they should not receive any deposit before having the customer verified But the most important thing, the lack of respect for the client.. defenetly I can not recommend

I am genuinely sad to write a negative review about smarkets. The interface is by far the best around and the commissions for a small account are excellent at 2% on net profit. I had originally planned to move over my Betfair Exchange account, as I immediately preferred the visuals of the smarkets platform and was pleasantly surprised by the liquidity in their football markets, albeit it is still generally less than the Betfair Exchange. Anyway, I thought I would test out the platform with a micro account just to get a feel for what I would be interacting with. Everything started well and I remained optimistic that this would become my preferred platform, however, a couple of days ago they had a major issue with their platform, which unfortunately occurred about an hour before a football match was due to start, that I had partial fills on, which opened my account up to an unacceptable level of risk for my strategy (circa 80% of my equity for that particular bet), in the event that the opposing team lost. I contacted smarkets live support and email support to tell them the situation and that due to their platform's failures I was now unable to cut my losses or get my order filled and they showed little to no interest, stating that "they cannot guarantee that my orders are filled" which is not what I asked them to do by any means. I, amongst several others, believe that if a customer loses money due to a platform's unreliability, that these costs should be covered. There is a significant difference between somebody losing money on a pure gamble and another losing money due to failures of the platform. In any case, the platform recovered in time for me to trade my way out of the bet at a profit, which the customer service rep. kindly reminded me of. I did, however, receive an apology and was advised that such events are a very rare occurrence. I decided to maintain my micro account and remained hopeful that it truly was an isolated incident. Unfortunately, today for no reason whatsoever, I could not access my account for 10 mins or so, for no apparent reason (both mobile and web app). It's a shame, as I truly did enjoy the interface, but this level of unreliability is unacceptable, particularly when customer service effectively tell you "it's not our problem". Hopefully Smarkets can improve their reliability and customer service and I may consider them again in the future, but for now, it's back to Betfair Exchange.

They don't have instant withdrawls, make you wait 1-6 days while they sit on your cash, limited to £20 withdraws!!! Yet instant deposit is not an issue in the slightest...BAM...it's in your Smarket account.1st and last time using, Betfair all the way from now on! Doubt the company will survive long as they will have no customers left

I wanted to check Smarkets out, as an alternative to Betfair, who are fine, but it's good to shop around. Deposited a small amount and then did some little £2 Lay the Draw bets, just to find my way around the site, checkout the interface. The first match had a goal in the 80th minute, but I hung around just to see the markets moves. I finally decided to trade out, confirmed the transaction and watched the small profit appear in my balance. The three outcomes (WLD) showed a profit irrespective of the final result. Then the other team got a penalty, the betting was suspended, a goal was scored and the money disappeared from my balance! The three outcomes now showed me having a loss on the laid draw. The game ended as a draw and I had indeed lost. I contacted live chat who told me the bet was not matched and the transaction was voided. What? The money was in the account, the profit was visible on the screen. I have never seen anything like it. Also, in as far as it is possible to discern through the medium of Live Chat, the support staff had an attitude, very abrupt and impolite. They had the cheek to tell me that nothing would show up in the balance until the match was complete. In other words, I was lying. Well, they were wrong, and should familiarize themselves with how the product operates. Like many others who have reviewed Smarkets negatively, I wish I had come on here and read the astonishing number of criticisms levelled at this organization - I would have saved myself some grief. The only positive is that I only put in £20 and not £200 as I would be very cheesed off right now. Give Smarkets a wide berth.

Easily the worst betting site online. They offer no free bets ever, poor odds, when you finally get good odds and place a winning bet the bet is voided with the excuse that the bet wasnt matched. I wish id visited here before i joined and saved £50. Steer clear

Been using Smarkets for a while having decided to switch from Betfair and use as my primary exchange. The fact they was offering accumulators on their exchange was a big plus and was the sole reason I decided to give them a go in the first place. Overall it has been a positive experience... up until recently that is. Their recent addition of their multiple bet system is very disappointing. For what is meant to be a "transparent" trading platform, is no longer. They play on the fact that this new system allows their customers to make up their own bets. However, the odds offered by using this system are absolutely appalling. It seems Smarkets have got too greedy for their own good and are taking a nice cut for themselves at their customers expense (on top of their commission tiers). All transparency has been lost and sadly as a result my trust in your services have too. Back to Betfair I go, at least they don't try and underhand their customers.

I am not sure if anyone has expereinced this the basic tier lets you place 1500 placed bets which is basically lie because their system does take into account unmatched bets or cancelled bets meaning example if you placed a bet and bet is cancelled before match/racing its still considered as placed bets and they dont have the ability to edit the existing bet. so if you have to cancel and re-place which is already considered as placed bets. BE AWARE

Used them for matched betting and in collaboration with Profit Accumulator been enjoying 0% commission for what feels like well over a year now. Normally plenty of liquidity to get my bets matched too. Not the range of sports like rivals Betfair but you can't argue with the 0%!

Just opened account a couple of weeks ago, they let you deposit with a credit card which is better than some exchanges I could mention. Interface is nice to use, it's very tempting to make more trades than you intended lol! Commission rates are high but transparent, haven't tried making any withdrawal yet. Will report back in future. Other reviews made me glum, won't talk about them here. Keeping an open mind.
