Constant errors, markets only priced up one side on sportsbook, dreadful liquidity, markets totally blank. Pitiful limits, ridiculously bad marginsCustomer service team are very arrogant and rude acting like it's their money you're taking, got tired of having to explain markets to them, most seem under trained in betting yet over qualified when it comes to attitude. The fact they don't reply on here sums them up . They seem to think we should be grateful to bet with them

Relative newcomer to Smarkets. I do a lot of matchbettingand only had £300 in account. Lost £90, but won £110 else where. This is when problems started. They refused my deposit of £110. Required proof of income which I sent. Week later still waiting for reply.They denied I sent it, so I sent again, then 2 weeks later Required bank statements. I complained, too intrusive but relented and did so. 2 hours later, I read these reviews and withdrew remaining monies. 2 weeks later, received sarcastic email about my complaining, and they hadn't received my bank statements yet ???? (was sent by pdf file) So glad I withdrew cash. So avoid this joke company

in my opinion smarkets is the best exchange there is, they asked me for payslips early and set a monthly deposit limit for me and ive never had any problems with them.

OMG! They kept asking for all kinds of documents-Bank statements on bank statements, tax returns, and what not. And after providing them with all of it, they blocked my deposits and asked for the same documents again. NONSENSE. I just withdrew my funds and will go back to another exchange provider

Just dreadful. Having read some of the previous reviews, perhaps I could explain why their spreads are so wide and have such tiny volume? It's because they've undertaken verification checks on their biggest users and made it nigh on impossible to keep an account. They want Bank statements, Share dealing records, Tax returns, Property dealings, shoe size and proof of how much you drink everyday. (Ok I made up the last 2 but you get my drift). They have made the mistake of going WAY beyond what the Gambling Commission require...and they are now paying the price. They were quite good until this happened but I refused to comply and have withdrawn my business.

As look now the tennis is actually 1.26 and 2.16!!. MLB Baseball currently has odds of 1.74 X 1.79 and 1.40 X 2.32. I mean come on??Darts 1.30 X 1.74. How can traders put these odds up?NBA markets disappear at midnight even though games don't start till 12.10am. What kind of way is this to run a sports book ? I've never seen anything like it in my lifeIf you question CS about it they simply ask what's wrong with the odds!!!!!?

Not good enough SmarketsIt's now Saturday and there's games Sunday which aren't priced up correctly. 1.45 and 1.79 h2h odds. When I emailed my outrage the CS just asked me what was wrong with the odds!!!!Also about 90% of the in play games don't have any markets up to bet on themPull your finger out. It's unacceptable

Try and place a bet on the sportsbook on tennis and I'm offered just £20 I go to take 1.91 and then boom it drops to 1.62. What an absolute jokeI see they don't bother replying on here. I don't know why I bother with them

Smarkets won't allow me to withdraw my winnings to my new card because my old bank card I used years ago and is no longer active has net deposits.They won't address this issue or remove the old card that has been out of date for years so effectively they're trying to hold and steal my money.

Facilitator of fraud...STEER WELL CLEAR.Had a fraudster/hacker steal £534 out of my account via Smarkets. Absolute stone wall clear as light of day, you could honestly not get a more clear act of fraud. I contacted Smarkets, informed them a couple of hours after this had happened, hoping theyd have some integrity and sort this out.Wrong, they allowed this act of fraud to happen, they even rewarded the fraudster by not even attempting to retreive my cash. They even had the guile to accuse me of placing the bet this fraudster placed.Steer well clear, they dont care about their customers, as long as theyre getting their 2% commission they let fraudsters thrive and steal your money. They wont communicate via phone should you too be a victim, they will just communicate via email and palm you off with poor excuses and even accuse you of wrong doing...wont be getting another penny off me now.Do not leave cash in your Smarkets account, be warned.

Go to bet place horse at Wolves. Bet unsuccessful. Market not available on this market. It's the 5.45 at Wolves. It happened at Cheltenham race as well. I'm so tired of buggy app that keeps giving me errors. No point in complaining theyll just say to uninstall app. They just don't seem to care a jotThey gave absolutely no offers for the festival either. Shame really cos the odds are normally really good but what point if you can never get a wager on. It's SO frustrating

After more than 2 years I suddenly from nowhere got an e-mail from them saying that my account is closed and that decision is final. WHAT!? I asked them about it and they say that someone at my physical address has self excluded from Smarkets. So what has that got to do with me? Since that person has self excluded and has the same physical address as me that must mean it was me that self excluded (in their logic...) Still, the person has another name of course but it doesn't matter. Someone with the same physical address as me has self excluded and that's why I can't be a customer anymore at Smarkets. They don't accept that there are 50 people living in this building with the same address. And I know for a fact that I've not self excluded and no one else at my address either because they don't even know what a trade or a bet is. Even if it were someone else so what has that to do with me? It's only a scam setup who treats a customer in this extreme way. I pleaded with them but they just insist that it's all for their customers' best. Yeah, right...STAY AWAY!

Shokingly bad, I had loads of matched bets on my account, and they suspended my account with little warning, making it impossible for to access, and cash out if needed, for example: laying 2UP bets. I sent them proof of earnings of 27,000 per year, and that wasn't enough, so had to sit and wait for all bets to settle, with no power over my account. Avoid at all costs, or prepare to be locked out of your account with live bets on.

This company really needs to get investigated. They let you put your first deposit and place your bets. But if you want to add more funds or withdraw they will ask for so many documents. Like all you bank accounts and details about the transactions, ID, proof of income, proof of address and more. Even banks don't do that. I am still waiting for them to send my pending withdrawals and then will shut my account. I rather pay 2% commission and have a safe and neat service.

First experience and never again. Signed up for the "offer" of COMMFREE and transferred funds, then told the offer not applicable to me for some unknown reason. Very poor!Waiting for funds to be returned.

When I go to place bet on sports book whatever horse I bet goes down 10 ticks. Example From 2.14 to 2.04. this never goes to my advantage always down, it's not on. When I question it I don't get a clear answer whyAlso the stakes are terrible.. Try and get 50 on and max 24 on even money shotThey've added live pics but very choppy

**AVOID** They make depositing money super easy, however, when it comes to withdrawing YOUR money, it's virtually impossible! I've given up trying to withdraw the funds I have with them, so my money is now Smarkets money. What a SCAM.

Beyond sickened at this company. When going through their very intrusive verification they had spotted £50 borrowed from a now deceased friend 6months ago. Nothing to do with smarkets or my bets in general yet they want the bank statement of deceased friend. They will continue to withhold my funds otherwise. sickening. Avoid

I got a deposit limit of 2% (!) of my income that I provided evidence for. They are effectively limiting me for no reason at all. Wouldn't recommend using this exchange to anyone.

From the outset this didn't go well. They initially accepted my deposit then immediately froze my account until I did an ID process which would have looked much more professional and credible the other way around.After a few days this was lifted I just place occasional bets on football matches and just cut and run if its winning in game. On Saturday afternoons European time the system can get laggy to the point of freezing and cashing out is impossible this has happened several times.Then I found that they would cover all games in a league EXCEPT the one I wanted, it just wasn't there.The final straw as cited by so many is that after several months they have come looking for proof of funds / income / savings IT NEVER ENDS. The amount of sensitive data that I have sent to this clearly dodgy company is way beyond any safe measure and all they do is ask for more. I have had enough and am exercising my right to have my data erased. It is insulting, massively over intrusive and as so many others have found ENDLESS.They have frozen my account and every time I submit anything it is days before they respond and it is always the same, they want MORE data and more copies of that which they have already asked for.I am only giving 1 star because I have to.

Like everyone else, I’m having issues with removing the suspension on my account due to outstanding documents to verify my source of wealth. They asked for my October payslip to remove the suspension. I could not find it so I sent a saving account statement in the hopes that this evidence that I can afford to bet. They said they can accept my October payslip. I had to contact my employer for the payslip to send to them, and now they are asking for I acquired my savings. How much do I need to prove in order to place a bet now and then? I feel like they’re on the borderline of breaching confidentiality! I would recommend using other exchanges, such as Matchbook, as they offer similar competitive rates without the hassle of supplying an excessive amount of evidence about your wealth/income.

I have had an absolute gutful of this firm and their incompetence. Twice today i have gone to place bets on horses only for no odds to be available and the horse goes and wins. #First time CS said there was no error, even through sent them a screenshot, second time they said they will flag it to the team but was too lateIts been like this virtually every other day one fault or another, its a shambles, how can you not have an app that works? If its not odds unavailable its error when trying to place a bet . Their stock reply is to tell you to reinstall the app which never does a thingIve been very patient but its not gotten better in months and its costing me money so back to betfair

They ask for more evidence than a mortgage provider does and refuse to answer emails once you have provided this evidence. I have over £8k in this exchange, i've provided evidence as soon as they have asked for and i have not heard from them for over 2 months. I have emailed them countless times ad nothing. They have disconnected there phone number too!

I have been using the platform for almost 5 years when suddenly having a deposit restriction applied. I was given no communication or explanation. They advertise matched betting on their own site, they know I have no gambling problem and am using it for system betting but continue to impose deposit limits. Absurd. Advice to matched betters, use another exchange, they could stop your account at any minute without warning. Not to mention every time there's a big event they have capacity issues and you have to suffer the pain of moving to another exchange anyway. Just use one of them anyway.

UNTRUSTWORTHY & DISHONEST.. a disgrace to the betting exchanges.. i have witnessed today smarkets.com had TOP GOALSCORER on its app for the WORLD CUP market and they have changed it over to GOLDEN BOOT WINNERThis is 2 very different markets, namely because only 1 player can win golden boot whilst u can have 4 winners for top goalscorer if lets say for example 4 players all scored 5 goals.Its a disgrace, my next phone call is to the gambling commission as this is clearly a breach of trust, i have just closed down my account, i do not deal with a trading platform that can completely change the market, its just disgraceful.GOLDEN BOOT AND TOP GOALSCORER have totally different outcomes, u cannot just change a market.. brainless is an understatement, its time this company gets reprimanded

I'm in shock to see the most recent reviews about Smarkets, I have never had a problem all the years that I have traded with them. They do at times have technical issues, but that is to be expected. One thing I have noticed recently is that there is a slight time delay on my bet showing up on the lay side, hopefully this is a technical issue because it looks like I haven't placed the bet straight away.

The app needs fixing. It was down yesterday on horse racing and then last night for the football, its just not good enough. The staff reply to you quickly enough but theres only so much they can do as they need to forward it onto the technical team, if this was a one off I would be okay but its most days now there is a problemSbk really need to get a competent IT team or someone who can maintain an app. You go really good odds and then mess it up with an app that keep messing upeven when I log in error saying price is unavailable or maximum is £10 even on the sportsbookAs for the review below saying the reviews are unjust? People can only comment on what they experience. Shouldnt need to constantly have to complain before the app is fixed. Have you any idea how frustrating it is when you cant get your bet on and it wins? Cant comment on SOW as not happened yet but if it did I would be off/ They would have 5 stars if they app and liquidity was sorted

I'm going to be completely honest, I only used Smarkets for about a month but that was long enough for problems to start arising. Since I joined Smarkets I was really happy with the service. The reason I went with them is because they seemed more transparent, more open, claiming "We don't care if you win or lose!" (plain lie by the way, they care about that more anything else). Everything was smooth, efficient, easy to use. Seemed great but issues came when they started asking for verification information after I deposited large amounts to make big bets. Absolute nightmare...At first I didn't mind, makes sense they might want to check for legal purposes. I gave them my passport scan, I told them about my job etc. But then I started getting emails asking me for the same info I already provided, saying they will close my account... Then they asked for bank statements and my recent payslip... Then they started to pick up on specific transactions I was making to my savings account and started asking to see those statements... More requests kept coming, they wouldn't accept a transactions list even though it shows the exact same thing. Request after request. Several days later I couldn't be bothered messing around with them anymore and left. It's clear that if you're betting big and subsequently winning, they don't want you and will try and find a way to get rid of you. They do care if you win or lose, if you're winning big they don't want you, if you're losing they want you.

Closed my account down after providing them with the blood of my firstborn child, and more financial information about me than even my own bank holds.Their reason was "they were concerned about my level of spending" but even after providing proof of match betting they still weren't satisfied.Customer service staff useless, took nearly two weeks for them to perform these 'source of wealth' checks, and when they finally finished they came to the most idiotic conclusion!and by the way they'll be wanting 3 months of bank statements from any account thats transferred into your own, and will ask you to explain any/all transfers, then even when you comply, close your account on an idiotic wrong footed basis.As well as this they want screenshots of account history at other bookies. AVOID!!!
